Excellent. Thank you for this detailed video with the resistance reading. I'm trying to figure out which pedal I can used with my 1970's era Lincoln TIG-300/300 which uses a 10K panel mounted control, meaning I would need a 10K pedal and now I know the K870 has a 10K pot. All I would need to do is replace the 6 pin with a 5 pin Amphenol.

Hey, the 28a I came across and am rebuilding had the same crap gasket thing across the top between the front panel. And the case. Was cork gasket Lima a valve cover and that awful old brown permatex gasket sealer. Yuck. The flacked off stuff is all down in the tuning engine. What a mess.

Nice! The 1965 Zenith Royal 755M. A terrific performing radio and I think it had 9 transistors. I'd love to find one of these in nice shape and working. Looks like you just need to fi'x the battery holder to have a it going again.

I'm tired of every RUclips channel saying the reason your welding gun won't work is due to "The nuts are loose that hold the tip". Not true. So most of the videos on RUclips in regards to your Weller solder gun are useless. Everybody who solders knows the importance of a good connection of the tip for it to work. What about when that doesn't work. Nope nothing. Especially about the transformer when everything else is fine including the switch and how to safely test the transformer. Guess I'll figure it out on my own. Shocks included. lol

You have to hook up an antenna to the back. Without the antenna you are recording blank.

So I bought a 10 buck bulb on Amazon last year after first watching your excellent video. But as the holidays were over, we had put oven away. Sunday I finally installed the new bulb, after reassembly it lasted 1 second! Was probably a 50 year old bulb. I'm searching for a 3 volt,1 Watt, Miniature Bayonet (Ba9s) LED. Will report back if I find an LED alternative, Thanks Ken T.

What I would do is desolder all the wires and cables from all the circuit boards and remove them from the chassis and then clean out all the rust and corrosion then treat the bare metal for protection then reassemble it then recap it.

You suck. MORE than likely, thats what's going on. But you don't even offer any other alternatives. Not even One simple, you've likely over heated the primary coil causing a short and lack of proper output

Just picked one up, like new condition and it does work, but reads 2 volts lower then my Fluke Bench meter. I have not opened it up to see if it has the original capacitors and the like.. The 10K resistor that reads 1K sounds like typical Heathkit where the resistor has been mislabeled! Hopefully mine will require minimum amount of work, but like you pointed out not a lot of parts. UPDATE!! So I opened up mine and it does not have a fuse, but what it does have is a wire wound resistor on each side of the AC line. This could be a sort of fuse, but I am not sure, not shown on 2 different schematics I have on the unit. Still has the original 70UF Capacitor so that will get changed. I did check the 10K resistor and it reads close to 10K. Robert WA6PHN San Diego

I just got one of these off of eBay. Mine is really beat up, and looks to be an older revision than yours. Hopefully I can get it up and running, its hard to get a cheap/affordable deviation meter.

You just saved me 200 bucks$. I f____up my connector, twisted off the wires. (senior moment). So had to solder wires back to the connector. Wasn't sure what went where but I could see the remnants of the colored insulation all except one. I did it but nothing worked when I got it back together so I figured I miswired it. But you showed me the schematic and I actually did it correctly!!! (amazing!) So now I know my problem is likely a power problem. Thanks, I was going to buy another pedal. I know my pedal is ok thanks to you.

When you light these, open that generator valve all the way for better, faster, cleaner starts. All Coleman instant lighting stove work this way.

The "alkaline pack"cartridge is black in color. I guess the change in cartridges elemenates one barrel connected, one for charging and one for power only, like in a Realistic pro-46. The yellow color reminds one to not insert alkaline batteries into a cartridge meant to charge nickel cadmium cells. Different safety feature. Too bad so many parts are missing but are readily replaceable if you'd like. If you just use an appropriate wall wart and an external antenna as well as an external speaker for a more permanent station monitor, or acquire the correct 12v cigarette lighter adapter for mobile use and mag mount scanner antenna. Would really help pull in those weak signals, like on the air craft band.
